Exams

The information on this page is related to all exams taken at Hertswood Academy, including internal assessments. It contains important information for candidates and sets out clear expectations for exams.

Candidates are expected to read and adhere to the following guidance prior to the start of their course and before the start of every exam season. Candidates will receive this information electronically and during special exam assemblies.

Information for Candidates

Summer examinations 2026

The summer 2026 written exams timetable starts Thursday 7th May and continues through to the final contingency day of Wednesday 24th June 2026.

CANDIDATES MUST REMAIN AVAILABLE UP TO AND INCLUDING WEDNESDAY 24th JUNE 2026, SHOULD EXAMINATIONS NEED TO BE RESCHEDULED.

Students will receive their personalised timetables during their Exams Assembly in March 2025

Exam certificates

Hertswood Academy holds students’ certificates for one year from receipt. After this time, certificates are destroyed. Duplicate certificates can be obtained directly from the awarding body for a fee.

Certificates are usually received by schools around November, but due to Year 11 internal assessments taking place early December, they are not available for distribution until January the following year.

🫀🔬 Saffron Green Primary visited  for a heart dissection workshop last week. As part of our transition offer, Year 6 students explored the four chambers and the aorta in our labs. We were impressed by their curiosity and engagement during this hands-on session!

💡 Year 8 have designed and manufactured impressive lamps in Product Design. From studying iconic movements like Pop Art to using CAD/CAM and vacuum forming, students showed great skill. Mrs Robertson is very proud of these high quality  outcomes! 🛠️✨

🏆 Twelve Year 7 students from  visited Wodson Park for a multi-sport event to build confidence and teamwork. They met an England Wallball player and tried Quidditch and Blazepods, finishing with a brilliant bronze medal! Well done to the great team of students. 🥉✨
