🎸🎤🎨 Our Summer Arts Event was a huge success, showcasing dance, music, photography and art. The night also saw a fond farewell to our wonderful guitar teacher, Paul, who has been inspiring, teaching and performing at #Hertswood since 2006. Thank you to everyone involved!
☀️ Brilliant Sports Day this week! #Hertswood students beat the heat with a morning of fantastic athletics, House pride, and medals galore. Huge thanks to our amazing staff for their hard work. Results will be announced in celebration assemblies next week! 🏆🏆
⛷️👏 Massive congratulations to #Hertwood Exec Headteacher, Peter Gillett, and his team for breaking the SkiErg world record! They completed a grueling 36-hour non-stop challenge, raising over £8,700 for Hattie's House, part of 'The Good Life Orphanage' based in Kenya. 🙏
Hertswood Academy will be closed to all students and staff on Friday 26th, as a result of a fault with the school’s water system, related to the high temperatures.
We fully expect the school to reopen as normal on Monday 29th. We will update you should this situation change.
☀️ Our dog-loving students helped school pup Chilli experience his first paddling pool in the #Hertswood quad! Though cautious at first, with some encouragement and his favourite ball, he braved the water to cool off from the heat before checking in on the school guinea pigs. 🐾

⚽ House pride was on the line in the #Hertswood Champions League football competition, organised by our Sixth Form Senior Team! Congrats to our winners: Darwin (Y7), Summerville (Y8), and Nuffield (Y9 & Y10). Brilliant sportsmanship and teamwork from all involved! 🏆
🏃♂️ Yesterday, Year 8 completed a 5km 'Race for Life' on the top field at #Hertswood, raising over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK. We are immensely proud of their enthusiasm and determination. The donation page is open until 1st July -- Thank you for your amazing support! 🏅

🎨 On Wednesday, #Hertswood Art & Photography depts held their summer exhibition. Across three classrooms, students displayed incredible work from this year. Stay tuned as we share more from our Art and Photography students, starting with this work from our A-Level artists. ✨
💡 #Hertswood's Year 8 French students took part in an exciting six-week gamification project with Mrs Coutya. They used hands-on, kinesthetic activities to build sentences, exploring themes from towns to festivals, and creating wonderful, colourful final displays!
🤝 The #Hertswood Student Council held a productive first meeting with our new Sixth Form Senior Team this week! Students from every reg. group discussed school improvements and more, as well as providing expert feedback to Herts Sports Partnership on their summer programmes.
👗👔✨ The #Hertswood One-Stop Prom Shop was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity of the Borehamwood community, we had 100+ dresses, as well as suits, shoes, and accessories. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped our students prepare for a night to remember. 🙏
