🤝✨ #Hertswood was thrilled to welcome Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and receive thanks from Hertfordshire Mind Network for our 2025 fundraising. We are so proud of our staff and students' dedication to supporting these vital specialist care services.
✨🎁 In the lead-up to the holidays, we were moved by the generosity of the #Hertswood community. From personalised gifts for students making great progress to our annual staff gift collection, it was a joy to see our students and their families supported.
🌳🦺 Recently we welcomed Gristwood & Toms back to #Hertswood for an engaging Year 11 careers talk. Students explored apprenticeships in arboriculture, learned about safety at height, and even tried out the equipment. A fantastic insight into the industry!
🌿📸 Year 10 and 12 #Hertswood Photography students enjoyed their annual trip to Kew Gardens last term! They captured some incredible shots of the botanical collections and the Temperate House. Well done to everyone involved for such a creative day out.
🪩✨ We had a fantastic end to last term for Year 7 at their reward disco in the #Hertswood Theatre! Students earned tickets through House Points and enjoyed a great night with DJ Miss Sammi. Our thanks to everyone involved. 🙏
🎨 Since September, six Year 11 Youth Ambassadors have worked with 'The Sandbox' to promote wellbeing at #Hertswood. Their '5 Ways to Wellbeing' poster is now live on screens around the Academy, and we look forward to seeing more from them in the coming months! 🌟
🏓 In December, #Hertswood's Year 7 and 8 girls enjoyed a brilliant table tennis masterclass with Hertsmere Women’s Table Tennis Club! The founder was very impressed with their abilities, as well as their positive attitude manners! 🌟
🎖️ #Hertswood is incredibly proud of our Exams Officer, Ms Inwood, who has been awarded a British Empire Medal for her 14 years of dedicated leadership as Chair of Leecliffe Big Local. A well-deserved recognition for her amazing service to her community!

Fantastic 51-8 victory for the #Hertswood Year 9 basketball team away at Yavneh College this week! They’re now 3-1 in the District League, giving them a great chance to make the final. Amazing effort from the team! 🏀⛹️
🎨 Year 10 Art students at #Hertswood completed their first ten-hour exam for their 'Natural Forms' project, producing bright acrylic paintings of fruit, flowers & leaves, showcasing individual styles & confidence!
❄️🎶 Tonight, #Hertswood is hosting our Christmas Arts Evening at 7pm in the Theatre. Enjoy Music & Dance performances plus amazing student Art, Photography & Craft displays. Free entry, with donations encouraged for Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. 🙏
⚗️ New Year 12 Chemists at #Hertswood tackled their first A-Level practical experiment on titrations. They showed excellent focus and attention to detail in applying their theoretical knowledge. Great commitment to this demanding subject! ✨
✨ #Hertswood's Year 12 Art students learned oil painting techniques in a masterclass, creating detailed studies of the human eye for a 'Building Foundations' project. They started with photography to capture tones, lighting and subtle emotions. So proud of their dedication! 👁️🎨
#Hertswood's Year 8 had an eye-opening 'Home Truths' session on homelessness with @hyhEducation. 🙏
This vital session linked perfectly with their study of the book 'Stone Cold' in literacy. Students gained insight into the reality faced by 136,000+ young people in the UK.
