Last week, 44 of our Year 11 Geography students travelled by train to Brighton to conduct essential fieldwork for their GCSE investigations. The trip focused on the impact of human management on natural coastal processes, providing students with hands-on experience to support their upcoming exams.

During the visit, students completed primary research into longshore drift and analysed whether local waves were constructive or destructive. They also investigated various erosion processes and took precise measurements to recreate beach profiles back in the classroom. It was a productive day of learning, made even better by the welcome appearance of the sunshine!
