Primary Heart Workshop
Back
Our Biology department was delighted to welcome students from Saffron Green Primary for an engaging heart dissection workshop in our science labs. This hands-on session is a part of the Academy's transition offer, providing primary students with a genuine taste of practical secondary school subjects and the exciting facilities we have here at Hertswood.
Under the guidance of our staff, the visiting students explored the inner workings of the heart first-hand. They successfully identified the four chambers and located the aorta, the heart's largest vessel, during the practical. Miss Elvins, Head of Transition and Teacher of Biology, noted that the students were fantastic and fully engaged, with even the more squeamish individuals showing great curiosity throughout the session.
