A Christmas Carol

Our Year 11 students received a one-hour performance of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, A Christmas Carol, last Friday, arranged by our English department. The excellent performance was delivered by Quantum Theatre, a company that tours nationally with faithful adaptations of classic texts, and who have previously visited the Academy for a performance of Macbeth.

Their dynamic interpretation brought the well-loved characters and timeless themes to life. The novella forms a key component of the students' GCSE English Literature curriculum, and the production helped deepen their understanding and appreciation of the text. The performance included elements of humour, which were well received, and the entire Year 11 cohort engaged positively with the production, demonstrating exemplary conduct throughout.
