University Success in the US

Just before the winter break, the Sixth Form Team and Headteacher, Mr Gillett, were delighted to welcome back Morgan to update them on his experiences at Emory University, in Georgia, USA.

Morgan moved on to Emory from the Hertswood Sixth Form last year, having earned A grades in A Level Maths and Physics, a B in Biology, and a Distinction* in BTEC ICT. With his hard work and the support of the Sixth Form Team and the Sutton Trust, he was able to earn a scholarship to study at Emory.

In the US system, students make a decision on their 'major' subject in their second year, so in his first year Morgan has enjoyed trying out a variety of courses, from Astrophysics and Mathematics, to Mandarin. While he is not a fan of American food, he is very much enjoying studying there, and it was a pleasure for our staff to see him so happy.
