Chess with Bentley Wood

With Hertswood's new Chess Club having finished its first tournament at an exciting final earlier this term, Mr Hare and the students had the pleasure of welcoming the Chess Club from Bentley Wood High School for Girls for our first ever chess friendly.

This was a great opportunity for the students to play a new set of opponents, and to meet students from a school who haven't visited the Academy previously. After two well-played rounds, Hertswood was delighted to come away with an overall victory, 8 games to 2.

We thank Bentley Wood and its students for their friendly visit, and for allowing us to share pictures from the event. We hope to see them again next year!
