Celebrating Year 13

Our Year 13 students marked the end of an era last Friday with a day of celebrations. They came into school at lunch time where they enjoyed refreshments and party games, as well as shirt signing which they unfortunately missed out on in Year 11 due to pandemic restrictions.

Then they made their way to our theatre for their assembly. As their Year 11 team did not get the chance to mark the end of their time with them in person two years ago, their former Deputy Head of Learning, Mrs Jamieson, took the opportunity to tell them how much they meant to her and wished them lots of luck.

Miss McFerran, Head of Sixth Form, then spoke to them about following their dreams and told them to keep moving forward. This was followed by their awards, including categories such as 'best dressed' and 'most likely to run the country'. The assembly concluded with a video showing many an old photo and video which was met with plenty of laughs and a good amount of cringing!

In the evening, students and staff headed to a local golf club, where Head Students James Hicks and Katerina Martin had led a team of students in decorating the venue with balloons and twinkling lights. The students enjoyed a buffet, chatting outside on a lovely summer evening, before finishing the night with dancing.

We’re excited to see what the future holds for them and wish them every success and happiness.
