Hertswood's Year 7&8 Girls' Football team have had great success in their last two fixtures, first with an 8-2 win against Ridgeway Academy, then a 6-1 win over Chancellor's School last week.

In the first game, against a well-estalished Ridgeway side, we had a rocky start but a great save from keeper Lily lead to a goal on the counterattack. With the team finding their feet the goals kept on coming, including four from Player of the Match, Sophie. It was great to see on the pitch just how well the girls have gelled as a team since the start of the season.

Against Chancellor's, the team had to really step up to deal with missing a few players from illness. Both teams battled hard early on without many chances on goal, but Ava finally broke the stalemate with a great run and a superb finish in the bottom corner. Thanks to some great offense and brilliant saves from Year 7 goalkeeper Adiya, we came away with the victory, and Year 7 skipper Poppy earned Player of the Match.
